RAM is important to be able to do more tasks, so take a minute to make sure it works best.
Random access memory (RAM) is very important for the computer to work efficiently. RAM has a very high read-write capacity, which allows it to store all processes simultaneously on the computer.

Faster and better RAM is essential to improve system multitasking. For this you need to know how to optimize the RAM of a laptop or PC. Because well-optimized RAM can improve system performance and make it more responsive.
Let’s take a look at some ways to efficiently optimize your laptop or PC’s RAM and produce maximum performance or performance on your computer.
How to optimize Ram
1. Track the memory used and run the cleaning process
Unnecessary background processes are one of the main causes of high RAM usage. Therefore, the easiest and most effective way to optimize your RAM is to track memory usage and eliminate unnecessary processes.

You can track memory usage using Windows Task Manager. Task Manager shows a comprehensive evaluation of parameters such as Memory Usage, CPU Usage, Network Usage, and GPU Usage of each process running on the computer.
To access Task Manager, right-click the Taskbar in the Windows operating system and select the Task Manager option. Or you can use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager automatically.
Scroll through the Task Manager to complete all seemingly unnecessary tasks. However, be careful, because there are some processes that you should never complete or kill.
2. Disable unwanted startup programs
Some programs run as soon as the computer starts. Startup programs can deplete memory resources, even if you don’t use them. It’s best to turn off unwanted programs to make your computer run faster, especially after starting.
In Windows, you can disable startup programs by accessing Task management and open the tab Start up. This tab lists all startup programs and their impact on your system memory. It would be better to consider disabling all startup programs that significantly affect memory.
3. Use another browser application
Google Chrome comes with many features that make it popular with millions of users around the world. However, not many people know how Chrome consumes your system resources every time it is used.
Chrome can quickly drain your RAM, especially if you’re using 4GB / 8GB of RAM. You should consider changing your browser, especially if you are accessing the internet through Chrome.
Lightweight browsers like Opera, Midori, Vivaldi and Light are great alternatives to heavier browsers based on Chromium. You can also consider Microsoft Edge, as it greatly improves the optimization of RAM after switching to the Chromium-based version.
4. Update the software
Most software companies offer better RAM optimization by updating their products frequently. This applies to all types of software, including operating systems such as Windows. It would be better if you are thinking of updating all the programs installed on your device to get the best memory experience.
Also, make sure that you install all minor and significant Windows updates, as they can greatly increase performance. You can also enjoy new features by constantly updating your software.
5. Use the MSConfig menu
Third-party applications run their system configuration services in the background. This process consumes a lot of valuable RAM and slows down the computer. You can disable all third-party services using the MSConfig menu.
You can access the MSConfig menu by searching MSConfig in Windows Run. After accessing it, the system configuration tab will open and display all running services.
This list also includes some important Microsoft services, so be sure to check the button Hide all Microsoft services before continuing. Removing all third-party services can lead to unexpected errors, for example, so it’s best to remove them one at a time.
6. Set up virtual memory
Windows provides a feature to use your disk space as storage, especially when using RAM. This feature is known as virtual memory or page file.
- Open Settings> System> About, and select Advanced system settings.
- Under the Performance, Select settings.
- Now switch to the tab Advanced and select Change under section Virtual memory.
The virtual memory window will appear. You can check the options Automatically manage the paging file size for all drives, and Windows will automatically manage the size of the virtual memory. You can also set the desired values in the Initial Size and Maximum Size columns.
The amount of virtual memory that can be used depends on your system. So using too much virtual memory can slow down your system, with important information shifting from super-fast RAM to much slower storage memory, even if you’re using an SSD.
7. XMP / AMP profile
Your computer may limit the maximum clock speed of RAM. However, you can take advantage of every bit of RAM capacity using Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) or AMD Memory Profile (AMP).
You can boot into the BIOS and enable the XMP or AMP profile. Configuring the XMP or AMP profile pushes RAM to run at a higher frequency and automatically adjusts the voltage required for overclocking.
Why not use RAM Optimizer software?
RAM optimization software is marketed as a solution to all memory problems. But such software often slows down the system while releasing RAM.
The RAM optimization software calls what is known as the Windows API “EmptyWorkingSet” and forces running applications to use the Windows page file instead of the actual RAM.
This frees up quite a bit of RAM, but the computer becomes relatively slow when Windows starts using the page file. So it will feel useless even if you use RAM amplification software.
So this way you can optimize the RAM of a laptop or PC. Low memory systems may experience various issues, such as frequent system crashes, intermittent experience, unexpected applications crashing, and more. All of this can make your computer difficult to use.
RAM optimizers are the best options for optimizing memory, but they are often counter-intuitive. We recommend that you consider optimizing your RAM using the simple methods listed in the article.
